Beach cafes with WiFi, coffee shops in Ao Nang, and basic coworking - less developed than Chiang Mai but perfect for relaxed remote work
Krabi's cafe scene is growing but nowhere near Chiang Mai or Bangkok. Most digital nomads work from hotel, beachfront cafes, or accommodation WiFi. A few cafes in Ao Nang offer decent WiFi and AC. The vibe is more "work from paradise" than serious coworking culture.
Reality Check:
Ao Nang Beach Road
Most popular cafe for digital nomads in Ao Nang. AC, decent WiFi, Western breakfast and coffee. Gets busy during breakfast but quieter mid-morning. Can stay for hours if ordering regularly.
Ao Nang Center
Trendy cafe with healthy food, smoothie bowls, good coffee. Tolerates laptop users. Small space so can fill up. Nice aesthetic for Instagram. WiFi decent for emails and browsing.
Central Plaza Krabi Town
Reliable Thai coffee chain inside Central Plaza mall. Consistent WiFi, AC, comfortable seating. Good for serious work sessions. Can get noisy on weekends. 30 min from Ao Nang.
Krabi Town
Quiet local cafe in Krabi Town. Few tourists, mostly Thai customers. Good for focused work. Basic WiFi but reliable. Friendly staff okay with laptop users. Very affordable.
Many mid-range and upscale hotels offer lobby workspaces, business centers, or allow non-guests to use WiFi by ordering food/drinks. More comfortable than cafes.
Most digital nomads in Krabi work from their condo/hotel. Rent a place with good WiFi, AC, desk, and save the commute to cafes.
Work with ocean views at beachfront cafes. WiFi can be spotty, but the setting is unbeatable. Best for light work and calls.
Krabi Town has a public library with free WiFi, AC, and quiet workspace. Not convenient if staying in Ao Nang.
Krabi's coffee scene is improving but limited compared to Chiang Mai. Most cafes serve decent espresso drinks, but specialty coffee and pour-overs are rare. Expect tourist cafe quality.
