๐ Sukhumvit Soi 15, Bangkok
Thailand's first full IB World School serving 1,800+ students from 90+ nationalities with complete IB curriculum.
NIST International School opened its doors on August 13, 1992, as Thailand's first full International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, established with the support and guidance of the Bangkok-based branch of the United Nations. Today, NIST welcomes over 1,800 students representing more than 75 nationalities, making it one of the most diverse and truly international schools in Bangkok. As one of the only not-for-profit international schools in Thailand, NIST is governed by the parent-elected NIST International School Foundation, ensuring the school's mission and values remain aligned with the community it serves. NIST offers all three IB programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP) for students aged 3-11, the Middle Years Programme (MYP) for students aged 11-16, and the IB Diploma Programme (IBDP) for students aged 16-18. The school was authorized to offer the IB Diploma in 1993 and the MYP in 1996, becoming the first school in Thailand to offer all three IB programmes by 1999. NIST received triple accreditation through the Council of International Schools (CIS), the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) in 1998, and the Office for National Education Standards and Quality Assessment (ONESQA), becoming the first school in Thailand to achieve this distinction. Located in downtown Bangkok near Asok BTS Station in one of Bangkok's commercial hubs, NIST provides easy access for families throughout the city. The Class of 2021 set a school record with an average IB Diploma score of 37.8 points, with 42.4% of students earning 40 or more points and eight students achieving the perfect score of 45. Parents consistently praise NIST's supportive environment, excellent teachers, strong sense of community, and commitment to developing not just academic excellence but also critical thinking, creativity, empathy, and global citizenship.

"My children started in EY1 and Y1, and my eldest is now in their final year. The amazing support during high school years has been incredible. They are truly very well supported and educated in a fantastic environment. NIST's faculty fostered their critical thinking, creativity, empathy and global readiness."
Sarah Mitchell ยท British Parent, Children in Year 1 and Year 13
"We chose NIST because of its international makeup - it truly is the most international school in Bangkok. The IB programs are excellent, and the teachers are top notch as were the counselors and coaches. Our children not only received an excellent education, but learned how to be good people."
Robert Chen ยท Singaporean Parent, Two Children at NIST
"NIST is hands down the best international school in Bangkok. Very strong academic curriculum, extremely tight community, wonderful teachers and staff, and great facilities. My child happily goes to school every day, which says everything about the positive environment NIST creates."
Jennifer Anderson ยท American Parent, 3 Years at NIST
NIST is Thailand's first full IB World School offering all three IB programmes since 1992. As one of the only not-for-profit schools governed by a parent-elected foundation, NIST maintains a truly international community with 75+ nationalities represented. We hold triple accreditation (CIS, NEASC, ONESQA) - the first school in Thailand to achieve this.
NIST consistently achieves outstanding IB results. The Class of 2021 set a school record with an average score of 37.8 points (world average is approximately 33). Over 42% of students earned 40+ points, and eight students achieved the perfect score of 45 points.
The Campus Development Fee supports ongoing campus improvements and facilities. Families can choose Option 1: a one-time refundable deposit of 575,000 THB (returned when child leaves NIST), or Option 2: an annual non-refundable payment of 60,500 THB. This flexibility allows families to choose what works best for their situation.
NIST has a very active parent community with extensive involvement opportunities. As a school governed by a parent-elected foundation, parent participation is central to our identity. There are many parent committees, volunteer opportunities, and events that create a truly collaborative school community.
